TESTIMONIALS
I feel like the skills that were taught are valuable and apply to the workplace. In school we are mainly taught the Xโs and Oโs and not taught how to deal with people. I have had a couple of interviews since learning about the DISC and people skills training, and I was able to easily identify their personalities. It helped me in the interviewing process, by giving me a feel on what they wanted to know from the interview. Overall, I believe these skills are very essential when I get out into the workplace and deal with people daily.

For me it was interesting learning about the different behavioral styles. Iโve always kind of describe myself as an โIโ style (people person) however, I didnโt know what that was before this class and it was hard to put into words. I now often find myself trying to figure out peopleโs different behavioral style, so I can get โin syncโ with them. Whether it is my bosses, interviewers, friends, or family. I believe knowing these skills will be great for my future as a lawyer because getting into sync with others is a huge part of the persuasion and debate process. Thank you for this opportunity.

I really feel the soft skills that we were taught has helped me a lot and will continue to help in my future. For me the biggest part was realizing who I was and why I acted the way I do. As most people do, I have run into conflicts throughout my life with people. It was very frustrating because we could simply not get along. The DISC behavioral system showed me why we donโt get along and why myself as well as others act the way they do. My relationships have already increased I can imagine that my career in the workplace will be greatly affected by this system. Realizing the traits of my own personality style was something that I have been missing for a long time. I canโt wait to reap the benefits of this knowledge!

Learning about the DISC behavioral system in this class has help me not only to better understand myself, but the people around me as well. I have been interviewing for a job this semester, and with the help of this behavior system I was able to understand the wants and expectations of my varying interviewers. Then I was able to blend my style to adapt to them, making the interviews much more, smooth. This ability will also help in my career, as I would know how to react to and work with different kinds of people, where before I was most likely most likely would have clashed with them.

The information I learned from the DISC behavioral system will help me in the near and long-term future. This training has taught me to understand myself and I have realized why I do the things I do and make certain decisions. I do these things because of my personality styles and this training has helped me to realize this. The essential skills training will help me in all areas of my life because I always need to be able to communicate, collaborate with others and have the confidence within myself. Also, conflict resolution will be a good skill to have when I deal with different behavioral styles. Finally, because my generation is projected to have 10 to 12 jobs in my life time, I better have good interviewing skills. I believe from this class I have gained much needed skills and experience for my future.

The DISC behavioral system is an effective tool for understanding other people and myself. Knowing these qualities has help me see my value and the value of others and what each can bring to the table. It also has improved my ability to adapt to other behavioral styles. The essential skills in the workplace such as communication, collaboration, conflict resolution, creativity, confidence, and character will help me as a person be successful and these are what employers are looking for in employees. Communication is still what I personally struggle with, so it is great to understand what I need to do. The interviewing skills will help me get a job and get my foot in the door in an organization.

The skills have helped explain to me why some peopleโs personalities drive me crazy and others complement my own personality. I knew that every individual has different motivations in life and prefer to do things differently, but I could never categorize and understand why. I have always been one who looks inward and studies myself, but I couldnโt do it with others or explain to others how to do what I done. Now I can help both myself and others have more meaningful productive interactions that will benefit everyone. This is already help me in my career as I understood personality of my soon to-be manager for an internship and I was able to connect with him effectively. I would highly recommend this type of training for everyone, no matter what they plan to do in life.

With the DISC behavioral system, I learned that I have an S/C personality style. Iโve also learned how to deal with people with certain behavioral types and how to blend and get in sync with them. For the essential skills training, I have learned skills such as having communication, being able to work with others, to be able to solve issues, be creative and have good character can help you in the business world. Lastly, I learned if you blend your behavior with that of your interviewer, you will have a higher chance of getting that job.

Mr. Turose, thank you so much for investing into my life this semester and teaching us all the super important life skills that we wonโt find in our textbooks. Learning how to get in sync with others is so important in all our relationships. Thank you so much for teaching us how to do that. The skills you have taught us in this class are so beneficial and I thank you for bringing all your real-life experiences in during the class. Also, thank you for making this class fun. I really enjoyed this class, but I donโt think I would have enjoyed as much with a different professor.

These skills that we learned were very helpful with understanding the differences in people and my interviewing process. The DISC skills we learned about allowed me to see what my strengths and weaknesses are. They also allowed me to adapt to the people around me, especially during an interview. The soft skills that we learned about will help me greatly in the future and give me an advantage in the workforce when I interact with coworkers and those in my office. The interviewing skills were also very important. They helped me land an offer for a job after graduation. Thanks for the great, life changing skills that you taught us.

These skills have helped me identify where my strengths and weaknesses lie. Soft skills and interviewing skills are also both crucial. If a candidate cannot relate to the interviewer or his co-workers, he will have a tough time distinguishing himself and gaining meaningful advancement. It is absolutely paramount to โblendโ styles when communicating with others, and to ensure people with the right styles are occupying the right roles. Some people -- like Sโs -- are more motivated by stability and fellowship, while others -- like Dโs -- are motivated by achievement and getting things done. Understanding these distinctions is key. These skills will enable me to create more robust workplace relationships, leading to greater opportunity for advancement and influence.
