FOCUS PROFILE STYLE: C/D

GENERAL OBSERVATIONS

The C/D Focus style is represented by a strong expressed desire to be correct and to be in control.  Using facts and information as a base and tempering this with high expectations for quality products, the C/D Focus style attempts to gain dominance in the environment. They like to lead in the area of their expertise. The C/D is highly task oriented and can often be perceived as cold, direct, and someone with whom it is hard to communicate—especially in an expression of feelings or warmth. The C/D seeks results but is more desirous to delay quick results to make sure the final product is correct. This conflict can cause internal stress to the C/D. Usually, the C/D would rather work to conclusion with a small number of assignments rather than multiple assignments. Risk and conflict are accepted but the C/D prefers that the opportunity for success in overcoming the risk or conflict is based on factual information. The C/D can be very good at creativity and process development. They are able to function very well independently and do not need a lot of people around them or need to spend much time communicating or with personal interaction. Affirmation of the quality of their product validates them and their efforts.
