FOCUS PROFILE STYLE: D

GENERAL OBSERVATIONS

The D Focus Style makes up about only 3% of the population. The driving motivation of this Focus Style is dominance and control in the environment. Task-oriented, the D Focus Style, contrary to the other single styles of behavior, moves quickly to achieve results, likes challenge and risk-taking, is independent, and does not avoid conflict. They do not seek long conversations or complex explanations. The D Focus Style can be impulsive and that trait can hurt their decision-making ability. On the positive side, the D can get things done; they drive for results and move things forward. The D is visionary and a positive thinker. Because this style of behavior encompasses a small percentage of the population, they are often perceived as cold relationally with a “bull-in-a-china-shop” style of behavior. [Actually, if the D slows down enough to take an overall view of the environment, they can be seen as quite merciful because of their great need to see justice prevail. In this regard, they can be heard to say “this is not fair.”]
