FOCUS PROFILE STYLE: D/I/S

GENERAL OBSERVATIONS

The D/I/S Focus style is a leader that leads from the relational component more than the
product or task to be done. Still very interested in results, the process is more in getting results
through the people involved rather than just task assignment. The difference maker for the
D/I/S is the security needed in the relationship. The dominance need of the D/I/S is achieved
by influencing people and sticking to a process and team concept. The need for security and a
steady environment makes for a “softer” approach that is less confrontive of those involved and
less individualistic in style. The D/I/S is willing to sacrifice some speed and risk to get results
in order to preserve the relationship and keep peace. The challenge for the D/I/S is to balance
the need for results and multiple tasking with the slower and more peaceful environment that is
often required in team performance.
